⭐ Top 8 picks: Pickleball Shoes for Women

K-Swiss Express Light Indoor Pickleball Shoes | ratings: 4.2 - 4.5⭐

K-Swiss is a classic and popular pickleball/tennis sneaker brand and they’ve nailed it with their lightweight, sleek design that will also hold up for outdoor court play. Comfortable, stylish, and built for serious play. Some reviewers say these run big, others say true to size. 👉Shop K-Swiss (style #1 under $60 | style #2 under $130)

2. On Women's "The Roger" Advantage Sneakers - $125 | Rating: 4.6 ⭐

Created by the one and only tennis star Roger Federer, these shoes have a really appealing vibe. They aren't necessarily light and double as a lifestyle (everyday) sneaker. I wear these on the court with ease but they aren't as flexible nor have as much grip as the tennis or pickleball designed shoes. Scores high on the cute scale. 👉Shop "The Roger"

3. Adidas Women’s Tennis Shoes - $56 | Rating: 4.5 ⭐

A budget-friendly option that doubles as women’s tennis shoes and pickleball sneakers. These have that clean Adidas look while still giving you the grip and comfort you need.  Can hold up for outside play as well. 👉Shop Adidas

Note: I plan on trying and buying the other pickleball shoe options here as well in the near future.

Bought & played pickleball in two different 2 shoes (click each picture below👇 for shopping links). First pick was for style and the lowest cost - the Adidas GAMECOURT 2 shoe costs just $56. These are super comfortable, lightweight and functional on and off the court, and the fit is true to size.  We've played with them on outdoor courts without concern.

Next, we absolutely love the look of THE Roger by ON Cloud for $125 (much less than the Cloud 5 or Cloud 6 options). The plan is to wear them as a staple on and off the court as a lifestyle sneaker. ELASTIC SHOELACES: I replaced the regular shoelaces (22 INCHES FOR 7.5 Shoe Size), laces linked 👉HERE. These elastic laces can be used on most shoes but finding the right length is the trick.

To be candid, the Roger's are not as light as most pickleball sneakers but they didn't restrict my movements. I see a lot of my fellow pickle-ballers wearing them too. Love them! 😍

FAQ: Do I Really Need Pickleball-Specific Shoes?

  • Question: Are indoor pickleball shoes different from outdoor?
The can be! Indoor pickleball shoes usually have a non-marking sole that won’t scuff gym floors and are designed for quick movements on smooth surfaces and can typically be used outdoors as well. Outdoor pickleball shoes are more durable with added traction to grip rougher court surfaces. If you play both, it’s worth having a pair for each so your shoes last longer. General rule: Indoor can be worn outdoor but outdoor might not be the ideal pick if you always play indoor.
  • Question: Can I just wear tennis shoes for pickleball?
Yes. Generally speaking tennis shoes and pickleball shoes are similar, especially since both sports heavily rely on side to side, lateral movements. However, shoes designed for pickleball are created with stability in mind for the smaller, quicker court, which can help prevent rolled ankles and improve comfort. If you’re serious about playing often, pickleball-specific shoes are the better investment.

How do I pick the right pickleball shoes for me? Consider the following:

    • Court type: Indoor vs outdoor

    • Fit: Look for a snug fit without being too tight (you don’t want slipping inside your shoe).

    • Support: A cushioned insole and sturdy outsole will keep you comfortable for long games.

    • Brand preference: K-Swiss, Adidas, Wilson, and New Balance all have strong reputations for court shoes.

Can I have a platform or lift in my pickleball shoes?
If you love a little height, look for a slight platform sneaker style, but avoid shoes with too much lift because stability is key in pickleball and ensures preservation of your ankles. 😜 A chunky sole can look cute but might make quick side-to-side moves harder. The best pickleball shoes for women balance a low, supportive profile with just enough cushioning to feel comfy and stylish.

👉 Whichever kicks you choose, you’ll be serving up serious style while you dink like a champ. Rock your kicks, bring the drip, and keep out of the kitchen unless it’s post-match snack time. 🍕😉)
